1. A method of administering insulin to a user, comprising:

  • delivering insulin from a portable infusion pump system to the user according to a medicine dispensing schedule, wherein the portable infusion pump system is worn by the user;

    detecting an activity level of the user using an activity sensor that is in communication with control circuitry of the portable infusion pump system and is worn by the user, wherein the activity sensor comprises at least an accelerometer;

    querying the user on a user interface of the portable infusion pump system to confirm whether the detected activity level of the user represents an actual activity level of the user; and

    altering the delivery of insulin from the portable infusion pump system as a result of the user confirming via the user interface that the detected activity level represents the actual activity level of the user.
