1. A method of programming a programmable schedule of an HVAC controller having a control module and a user interface including a display screen coupled to the control module, the programmable schedule stored in a memory and having two or more programmable set points, with each set point having a time parameter and a corresponding temperature parameter, the method comprising the steps of:

  • activating a guided programming routine of the control module via the user interface of the HVAC controller;

    wherein once activated, the guided programming routine providing a programmed sequence of two or more screens on the display of the HVAC controller from a first screen to a last screen, wherein the programmed sequence of two or more screens is determined by the guided programming routine of the control module, with a next screen in the sequence of two or more screens being displayed after receiving a predetermined next screen input from a user via the user interface of the HVAC controller, each of the two or more screens of the programmed sequence of two or more screens displaying a stated user request that requests a user provide information that is directed to a user'"'"'s activities and/or comfort and accepts corresponding user responses;

    determining two or more of the programmable set points of the programmable schedule from the user responses; and

    updating the programmable schedule in the memory with the determined two or more of the programmable set points, resulting in an updated programmable schedule.
