1. A medical cable configured to communicate signals indicative of light attenuated by body tissue from a noninvasive optical sensor positioned with respect to said tissue to a patient monitor, said patient monitoring configured to process said signals and determine one or more physiological parameters of a patient, the cable comprising:

  • an inner bundle including (i) a wire configured to carry said signals, said wire including a conductor surrounded by an insulator and (ii) at least one flexible compressible conductive polymer cord;

    an inner shield at least partially surrounding the inner bundle;

    an inner jacket surrounding said inner shield; and

    an outer jacket;

    wherein said flexible compressible conductive polymer cord does not carry an inner conducting wire.
