1. An article of manufacture comprising:

  • a writing surface including at least one region configured to accept handwriting information from at least one user,the at least one region further configured to receive at least one hand-formed machine-distinguishable identifier formed proximate to the at least one user'"'"'s handwriting information being accepted, the at least one hand-formed machine-distinguishable identifier being distinguishable from the at least one user'"'"'s handwriting information and keyed to at least one data receptor, the at least one hand-formed machine-distinguishable identifier being configured to be electronically distinguished by at least one processing device such that the information proximate to the at least one hand-formed machine-distinguishable identifier is electronically transmitted to the at least one data receptor, the at least one data receptor selected from at least one table correlating at least two machine-distinguishable identifiers with different applications, wherein each application is assigned to and performs a function associated with a corresponding machine-distinguishable identifier.
