1. An electrode cuff comprising:

  • a first elongate portion configured with a length to removably contact, and be aligned generally parallel to, length of a nerve, the first elongate portion having a first side edge and a second opposite side edge, both of which extend generally parallel to the length of the first elongate portion;

    a second elongate portion to extend outwardly from, and perpendicular relative to, the first edge of the first elongate portion, wherein the second elongate portion is biased to, and has a length sufficient to, releasably encircle the nerve and at least partially overlap the second opposite side edge of the first elongate portion; and

    a first single series of at least three electrodes disposed on and spaced apart longitudinally along the length of the first elongate portion,wherein the at least partially overlapping portion of the second elongate portion has a width less than the length of the first elongate portion, with the width being less than a distance of separation between two outer electrodes of the at least three electrodes extending along the length of the first elongate portion.
