1. A data communication method for use over a wireless communication channel, the method comprising:
- receiving a wirelessly transmitted data transmission frame over a wireless communication channel, the data transmission frame comprising a first synchronization signal that defines an endpoint of the data transmission frame;
measuring a characteristic of the received first synchronization signal; and
determining a level of noise for transmissions over the wireless communication channel based on the measured characteristic of the received first synchronization signal.

A system and method involve transceiving successive first and second synchronization signals defining endpoints of a frame. A digital signal is transceived by a modulating time interval between portions of the first and second synchronization signals. A first data pulse is transceived during the frame. A relative position in the frame of the first data pulse represents a first analog signal.

a receiver circuit to receive at least a wirelessly transmitted data transmission frame over a wireless communication channel, wherein the data transmission frame comprises a first synchronization signal that defines an endpoint of the data transmission frame; and a controller circuit, coupled to the receiver circuit for delivering at least one control signal thereto, the controller including a noise detection circuit including executable instructions defining a measurement of a characteristic of a the received first synchronization signal, and defining a determination of a level of noise for transmissions over the wireless communication channel based on the measured characteristic of the received first synchronization signal.
