1. A system for playing music in an out-of-home pay-for-play establishment, comprising:

  • a non-transitory computer readable storage medium tangibly storing a catalog of songs; and

    processing resources, including at least one processor and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor are, configured to control the system to at least;

    enable a plurality of registered users to execute respective login operations via respective mobile devices to indicate that the respective registered users are present at the out-of-home pay-for-play establishment;

    in response to logged-in registered users selecting songs, facilitate collection of credits and add the selected songs to a queue of songs to be played back at the out-of-home pay-for-play establishment, at least a portion of the queue being displayable for the registered users; and

    receive, from logged-in registered users via their respective mobile devices, votes on the songs in the displayable portion of the queue, wherein tallied counts of votes placed by the logged-in registered users are displayable to the logged-in registered users; and

    cause songs listed in the queue to be played at the out-of-home pay-for-play establishment,wherein the portion of the queue, an indication of a currently playing song, and at least some tallied counts of votes are displayable on mobile devices that the logged-in registered users use to execute respective login operations,wherein the catalog of songs is restrictable, independent of patron-specific actions, such that only a partial subset of songs is available for selection by the logged-in registered users at the out-of-home pay-for-play establishment, the catalog of songs being restrictable through specification of respective amounts of music for a plurality of genres.
