Abstract

Methods and devices including providing a device having at least a primary screen and a secondary screen; receiving a first input, where the first input includes a language input on the primary screen; processing the first input to estimate a character based on the first input; displaying the estimated character(s); and displaying a selection, where the selection includes a chosen character selected from the estimated character(s).

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

providing a device having at least a primary display and a secondary display;

a processor of the device receiving a first input in an input application that is operable to recognize handwritten input, wherein the first input comprises a language input associated with a language, and wherein the first input is received on the primary display;

the processor processing the first input to estimate two or more characters, used in the language, that are similar to on-the first input;

displaying the two or more estimated character(s) on the secondary display;

receiving a selection of one of the two or more estimated character(s); and

displaying the selection on the secondary display, wherein the selection comprises a chosen character selected from the two or more estimated character(s).

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the two or more estimated character(s) are displayed on the primary display and the selection is displayed on the secondary display.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the two or more estimated character(s) and the selection are displayed on the secondary display.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the two or more estimated character(s) comprise a list of predicted character options.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the predicted character options comprise at least one of letters, words, and phrases.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

after displaying the two or more estimated character(s), receiving a second input, wherein the second input modifies at least one of the display of the two or more estimated character(s) or the display of the selection.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the second input requests a display mode for the secondary display.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the secondary display is configured with a user interface.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the second input is provided through the user interface.

10. A device, comprising:

a primary display;

a secondary display;

a memory;

a processor in communication with the memory, the primary display, and the secondary display, the processor operable to;

receive a first input in an input application that is operable to recognize handwritten input, wherein the first input comprises a language input associated with a language, and wherein the first input is received on the primary display;

process the first input to estimate a character based on the first input;

display the estimated character(s) on the secondary display;

receive a selection of the estimated character; and

display the selection on the secondary display, wherein the selection comprises a chosen character selected from the estimated character(s).

11. The device of claim 10, wherein the estimated character is displayed on the primary display and the selection is displayed on the secondary display.

12. The device of claim 10, wherein the estimated character and the selection are displayed on the secondary display.

13. The device of claim 10, wherein the estimated character comprises a list of predicted character options.

14. The device of claim 13, wherein the predicted character options comprise at least one of letters, words, and phrases.

15. The device of claim 10, wherein the processor is further operable to:

after displaying the estimated character, receive a second input, wherein the second input modifies at least one of the display of the estimated character or the display of the selection.

16. The device of claim 15, wherein the second input requests a display mode for the secondary display.

17. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, the computer executable instructions causing a processor of a device to execute a method for providing a user interface, wherein the device has at least a first display and a second display, the computer-executable instructions comprising:

receiving a first input in an input application that is operable to recognize either handwritten input or keyboard input, wherein the first input comprises a language input associated with a first language, and wherein the first input is received on the first display;

processing the first input to estimate a character associated with a second language based on the first input;

displaying the estimated character(s) on the second display;

receiving a selection of the estimated character; and

displaying the selection on the second display, wherein the selection comprises a chosen character associated with the second language and selected from the estimated character(s).

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the estimated character is displayed on the primary display and the selection is displayed on the secondary display.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein the estimated character and the selection are displayed on the secondary display.

20. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

after displaying the estimated character, receiving a second input, wherein the second input modifies at least one of the display of the estimated character(s) or the display of the selection.
