1. A prosthetic foot system, comprising:

  • a prosthetic foot having an elongate, plate-like foot element, the foot element being asymmetric about a longitudinal axis of the foot element, and the foot element comprising a lengthwise split extending along at least a portion of a length of the foot element and a cut-out portion at an anterior end, wherein the cut-out portion is positioned toward a medial side of a longitudinal axis of the foot element, wherein a first portion of the split runs substantially straight in an anterior-posterior direction and a second portion of the split turns in a medial direction and continues to a base of the cut-out portion; and

the prosthetic foot being configured such that a scan of pressure applied by the foot to a walking surface when the foot is worn by an amputee and used for normal walking as the foot rolls over from heel strike to toe off provides indicators of center of pressure traveling in a substantially straight line from heel strike to mid stance and then curving toward a medial side of the foot from mid stance to toe off.
