1. A method performed on a hemodialysis machine, comprising:
- receiving data representing drug vial combinations providing a plurality of drug dosages to be delivered over multiple treatments, wherein a first drug vial combination includes at least one drug vial of a first size, and a second drug vial combination contains at least one drug vial of a second size,selecting, by one or more processors of the hemodialysis machine, a drug vial combination of the drug vial combinations, by comparing a prescribed drug dosage to the received data representing the drug vial combinations, each drug dosage associated with a plurality of drug vial combinations,the selected drug vial combination comprising one or more drug vials, each of the one or more drug vials containing a first drug, the drug vial combination selected such that an unused amount of the first drug is minimized during a treatment of the multiple treatments; and
delivering, by a drug delivery device of the hemodialysis machine, substantially all of the first drug from each of the one or more drug vials during a treatment of the multiple treatments to a patient, wherein a control unit of the drug delivery device automatically operates a pump of the drug delivery device to which the one or more drug vials are connected.

Abstract
This disclosure relates to drug delivery methods and related products. In some aspects, a method includes selecting a drug vial combination by comparing a prescribed drug dosage to a dosing schedule, and delivering substantially all of the first drug from each of the selected drug vials to a patient by operating a pump of a drug delivery device to which the drug vials are connected.

receiving, by one or more processors of the hemodialysis machine, data related to a prescribed drug dosage; receiving data representing drug vial combinations providing a plurality of drug dosages to be delivered over multiple treatments, wherein a first drug vial combination includes at least one drug vial of a first size, and a second drug vial combination contains at least one drug vial of a second size, determining, by the one or more processors of the hemodialysis machine, one or more recommended drug vial combinations by comparing the prescribed dosage to the received data representing the drug vial combinations, each drug dosage associated with a plurality of drug vial combinations, the one or more recommended drug vial combinations determined such that an unused amount of a drug is minimized during a treatment of the multiple treatments, wherein each of the one or more recommended drug vial combinations comprises one or more drug vials, and the one or more drug vials of each of the one or more recommended drug vial combinations contain an amount of drug substantially equal to the prescribed dosage, each drug vial of each of the one or more recommended drug vial combinations containing an amount of drug for delivery during a treatment of the multiple treatments; and delivering an amount of the drug during a treatment of the multiple treatments, wherein a control unit of a drug delivery device of the hemodialysis machine automatically operates a pump of a drug delivery device to which the one or more drug vials are connected. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)

21. A computer program product residing on a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product comprising instructions for causing a processor of a hemodialysis machine to:

receiving data representing drug vial combinations providing a plurality of drug dosages to be delivered over multiple treatments, wherein a first drug vial combination includes at least one drug vial of a first size, and a second drug vial combination contains at least one drug vial of a second size, determine one or more recommended drug vial combinations by comparing a prescribed dosage to the received data representing the drug vial combinations, each drug dosage associated with a plurality of drug vial combinations, the one or more recommended drug vial combinations determined such that an unused amount of a drug is minimized during a treatment of the multiple treatments, wherein each of the one or more recommended drug vial combinations comprises one or more drug vials, wherein each drug vial of each of the one or more recommended drug vial combinations contains an amount of drug for delivery during a treatment of the multiple treatments, and the one or more drug vials of each of the one or more recommended drug vial combinations contain an amount of drug substantially equal to the prescribed dosage; and cause a delivery device to deliver an amount of the drug during a treatment of the multiple treatments, wherein a control unit of a drug delivery device of the hemodialysis machine automatically operates a pump of a drug delivery device to which the one or more drug vials are connected. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29)
