1. A method to provide messages to a television user, the method comprising:
- detecting a request for a list of voicemail message information stored with one of a first message provider or a second message provider, the request causing initiation of a terminal session between a television system and a television in accordance with a remote desktop protocol;
determining, at a mediation system associated with the television system, an identifier associated with the television;
querying a database, at the mediation system, to determine a voicemail mailbox associated with the identifier;
in response to detecting the request for the list of voicemail message information stored with the first message provider, determining from the database, a first command to cause the first message provider to forward the list from the voicemail mailbox;
in response to detecting the request for the list of voicemail message information stored with the second message provider, determining from the database, a second command to cause the second message provider to forward the list from the voicemail mailbox; and
sending the list of voicemail message information from the voicemail mailbox to the television via the terminal session.

An example method includes determining an identifier associated with a television device in response to detecting a request for a list of voicemail message information, querying a database to determine a voicemail mailbox associated with the identifier, initiating a terminal session in accordance with a remote desktop protocol for the television device, and sending the list of voicemail message information to the television device via the terminal session.

a memory including machine readable instructions; and a processor to execute the instructions to at least; detect a request for a list of voicemail message information stored with one of a first message provider or a second message provider, the request to cause initiation of a terminal session between the television system and a television in accordance with a remote desktop protocol; determine an identifier associated with the television; query a database to determine a voicemail mailbox associated with the identifier; in response to detecting the request for the list of voicemail message information stored with the first message provider, determine a first one of a plurality of commands to cause the first message provider to acquire the list from the voicemail mailbox; in response to detecting the request for the list of voicemail message information stored with the second message provider, determine a second one of the plurality of commands to cause the second message provider to acquire the list from the voicemail mailbox; and send the list of voicemail message information from the voicemail mailbox to the television via the terminal session. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)
