1. An electrode assembly having a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape attached to an outer circumferential surface thereof,wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises:
- a substrate layer that is swelled along a longitudinal direction when coming in contact with an electrolyte; and
a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one surface of the substrate layer in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the substrate layer and having a peel strength at room temperature of 100 gf/25 mm or more, as measured at a peel angle of 180° and
a peel rate of 5 mm/sec with respect to an electrode assembly or glass plate, andwherein the substrate layer has a strain of 10% or more in the longitudinal direction according to the following Equation 1;
Strain in longitudinal direction =(L2−
L1)/L1×
100
Equation 1wherein L1 is an initial length of the substrate layer before the substrate layer comes in contact with the electrolyte; and
L2 is a length of the substrate layer, which is measured after the substrate layer comes in contact with the electrolyte at room temperature or 60°
C. for 24 hours.

Abstract
An electrode assembly and a battery are provided. The electrode assembly may be effectively fixed inside a can as a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape attached to an outer circumferential surface of the electrode assembly is formed into a 3D shape by an electrolyte. Thus, the electrode assembly does not move and rotate inside the can due to external vibration or impact and damage of welded regions of a tab or disconnection of inner circuits can be prevented.
