Abstract

A digital image of the object is captured and the object is recognized from plurality of objects in a database. An information address corresponding to the object is then used to access information and initiate communication pertinent to the object.

Claims

1. A portable hand-held transaction device comprising:

a sensor configured to acquire sensor data representative of and associated with an image of at least one credit card object;

a data processing computing platform coupled with the sensor and configured to;

recognize, based on salient parameters associated with the image, the at least one credit card object as a known target credit card object;

identify an information address stored in a database based on recognizing the at least one credit card object; and

use the information address to obtain pertinent information associated with a selected account associated with the at least one credit card object; and

a terminal connection coupled with the data processing computing platform and configured to enable a terminal device to initiate a transaction with the selected account based on the pertinent information and by providing the pertinent information to the terminal device.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the sensor data is further associated with a location.

3. The device of claim 2, wherein the location comprises a user location.

4. The device of claim 2, wherein the location comprises a device location.

5. The device of claim 2, wherein the location comprises a vehicle location.

6. The device of claim 2, wherein the location comprises a GPS location.

7. The device of claim 2, wherein the pertinent information associated with the selected account depends on the location.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the sensor data is further associated with a time.

9. The device of claim 8, wherein the time comprises a time when the sensor data was captured.

10. The device of claim 8, wherein the pertinent information associated with the selected account depends on the time.

11. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with an automated teller machine operating as the terminal device.

12. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a gas pump operating as the terminal device.

13. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a vending machine operating as the terminal device.

14. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a kiosk operating as the terminal device.

15. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a point-of-sales terminal operating as the terminal device.

16. The device of claim 1, wherein the sensor comprise an imaging sensor.

17. The device of claim 16, wherein the sensor data comprises the image.

18. The device of claim 16, wherein the imaging sensor comprises a camera.

19. The device of claim 1, further comprising a button wherein the button is configured to cause the sensor to acquire the sensor data.

20. The device of claim 1, wherein the pertinent information comprises coded information.

21. The device of claim 1, wherein the pertinent information comprises identity information.

22. The device of claim 1, wherein the pertinent information comprises status information.

23. The device of claim 1, wherein the selected account comprises an account linked to the terminal device.

24. The device of claim 1, wherein the selected account comprises an account linked to a user.

25. The device of claim 1, wherein the selected account comprises a bank account.

26. The device of claim 1, wherein the selected account comprises an account linked to a credit card.

27. The device of claim 1, wherein the transaction comprises an on-line transaction.

28. The device of claim 1, wherein the transaction comprises a purchase of an object.

29. The device of claim 1, wherein the transaction comprises an on-going interaction.

30. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection comprises a wired connection.

31. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection comprises a wireless connection.

32. The device of claim 1, wherein the terminal connection comprises a physical connection.

33. The device of claim 1, further comprising a cellular telephone that includes the sensor, data processing platform, and the terminal connection.

34. A portable hand-held transaction device comprising:

a sensor configured to acquire sensor data representative of and associated with an image of at least one credit card object;

a data processing computing platform coupled with the sensor and configured to;

obtain a location information representative of a location;

recognize, based on salient parameters associated with the image, the at least one credit card object as a known target credit card object;

identify an information address stored in a database based on recognizing the at least one credit card object; and

use the information address and the location information to obtain pertinent information associated with a selected account associated with the at least one credit card object; and

a terminal connection coupled with the data processing computing platform and configured to enable a terminal device to initiate a transaction with the selected account based on the pertinent information and the location information, and by providing the pertinent information to the terminal device.

35. The device of claim 34, wherein the location comprises a user location.

36. The device of claim 34, wherein the location comprises a device location.

37. The device of claim 34, wherein the location comprises a vehicle location.

38. The device of claim 34, wherein the location comprises a GPS location.

39. The device of claim 34, wherein the sensor data is further associated with a time.

40. The device of claim 39, wherein the time comprises a time when the data was captured.

41. The device of claim 39, wherein the pertinent information associated with the account depends on the time.

42. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with an automated teller machine operating as the terminal device.

43. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a gas pump operating as the terminal device.

44. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a vending machine operating as the terminal device.

45. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a kiosk operating as the terminal device.

46. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection is configured to interact with a point-of-sales terminal operating as the terminal device.

47. The device of claim 34, further comprising a button wherein the button is configured to cause the sensor to acquire the sensor data.

48. The device of claim 34, wherein the pertinent information comprises coded information.

49. The device of claim 34, wherein the selected account comprises an account linked to the terminal device.

50. The device of claim 34, wherein the selected account comprises an account linked to a user.

51. The device of claim 34, wherein the selected account comprises a bank account.

52. The device of claim 34, wherein the selected account comprises an account linked to a credit card.

53. The device of claim 34, wherein the transaction comprises an on-line transaction.

54. The device of claim 34, wherein the transaction comprises a purchase of an object.

55. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection comprises a wired connection.

56. The device of claim 34, wherein the terminal connection comprises at least one of a physical connection and a wireless connection.

57. A portable handheld transaction device comprising:

a sensor configuration to acquire sensor data representative of and associated with an image of at least one credit card object;

a data processing computing platform coupled with the sensor and configured to;

obtain time information representative of a time;

recognize, based on salient parameters associated with the image, the at least one credit card object as a known target credit card object;

identify an information address stored in a database based on recognizing the at least one credit card object; and

use the information address and the time information to obtain pertinent information associated with a selected account associated with the at least one credit card object; and

a terminal connection coupled with the data processing computing platform and configured to enable a terminal device to initiate a transaction with the selected account based on the pertinent information and the time information, and by providing the pertinent information to the terminal device.

58. The device of claim 57, wherein the data is further associated with a location.

59. The device of claim 58, wherein the location comprises a user location.

60. The device of claim 58, wherein the location comprises a device location.

61. The device of claim 58, wherein the location comprises a vehicle location.
