1. A method comprising:

  • determining a first position of a conductive object, manipulated by a user, proximate to a touch-screen;

    determining a proximity of the first position to a reference location of the touch-screen;

    determining, by a processing device, a first active feedback attribute based on the proximity of the first position to the reference location, wherein an active feedback attribute is variable according to a proximity of the conductive object and the reference location; and

    providing a first active feedback having the first active feedback attribute to the user to allow detection of the reference location on the touch-screen by the user, wherein providing the first active feedback includes providing at least a portion of the first active feedback prior to a key activation associated with the reference location.
