1. A system for acquiring performance data from industrial vehicles having different respective standardized communication protocols, wherein a first industrial vehicle includes a first vehicle controller operatively connected to control a plurality of components and configured to communicate using a first vehicle communication network and adapted to transmit vehicle data using a first standardized network communication protocol, wherein a second industrial vehicle includes a second vehicle controller operatively connected to control a second plurality of components and configured to communicate using a second vehicle communication network and adapted to transmit second vehicle data using a second standardized network communication protocol, said system comprising:

  • a data acquisition module not compatible with the first standardized communication protocol of the first industrial vehicle to receive the vehicle data, the data acquisition module having a port adapted to removably connect to the second standardized communication network of the second industrial vehicle and receive vehicle data that is transmitted using the second standardized network communication protocol, and the data acquisition module having a communicator for wirelessly transmitting the vehicle data; and

an interface module having an input for connecting to an output signal from at least one of the plurality of components on the first industrial vehicle, the plurality of components on the first industrial vehicle in communication with the first vehicle controller via the first vehicle communication network, wherein the interface module derives the vehicle data from the output signal, and communicates the vehicle data using a network interface removably connected to the port to convey the vehicle data to the data acquisition module using the second standardized network communication protocol.
