1. A system comprising:

  • a server;

    a receiver that is part of a wireless network and is in communication with said server as a network client, the receiver comprising;

    a plurality of radio frequency (RF) front-end circuits each configured to receive wireless signals from mobile nodes within a wireless network along an allocated channel for each front-end circuit;

    a signal waveform detector circuit at each allocated channel configured to detect a signal waveform on the respective allocated channel and generate a trigger waveform indicative of information describing a desired signal to be captured, wherein the signal waveform detector circuit at each allocated channel is further configured to generate the trigger waveform, wherein the trigger waveform is indicative of modulation type, data format, and time-of-arrival (TOA) information of a desired signal to be captured; and

    a plurality of processors each specific to an allocated channel and connected to a respective front-end circuit for the allocated channel, each processor being configured to receive a respective trigger waveform and, responsive to the trigger waveform, capture a desired signal specific to the respective allocated channel and acquire time-of-arrival (TOA) information for determining a location based on the captured desired signal, wherein the receiver is further configured to provide the TOA information to the server.
