1. An ECG sensing unit formed as an adhesive patch, comprising:

  • at least three electrodes for application to a subject and arranged for generating bipolar signals;

    a radio module for communication with a remote receiver station;

    at least first and second differential amplifiers coupled to the ECG sensing unit'"'"'s electrodes for generating at least first and second bipolar signals from electrical signals sensed by the electrodes from which non-standard ECG signals are generated;

    a further differential amplifier for generating calibration signals based on externally received signals having an input port for connection to an electrode external to the ECG sensing unit for allowing physical and electrical connection and disconnection of the further differential amplifier to and from the external electrode.
