Abstract

Compounds and compositions are described herein for treating post traumatic stress disorder.

Claims

1. A method for treating a patient having post traumatic stress disorder, the method comprising the step of administering to the patient a compound of the formula

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the patient has post traumatic stress disorder comorbid with (a) one or more impulse control or anger disorders, (b) one or more of general anxiety or related anxiety disorders, or (c) one or more depression disorders, or (d) a combination thereof.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the patient has post traumatic stress disorder comorbid with major depression.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the compound is selective for the V1a receptor.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the compound is of the formula

6. The method of claim 5 wherein the salt form is a hydrochloride salt form.
