- displaying information on a touch-sensitive display;
detecting a first touch at a first location associated with the information;
rendering a first indicator at a first position within the information when the first touch is detected;
when a second touch is detected at a second location associated with the information, rendering a second indicator at a second position and highlighting information that is displayed between the first position and the second positionwherein a majority of one of the first and second indicators is oriented above an earliest part of the highlighted information, and wherein a majority of an other of the first and second indicators is oriented below a latest part of the highlighted information; and
detecting crossing movement of the first and second indicators, and switching orientations of the first and second indicators.
