1. A wireless power transmitter, comprising:
- a single transmit antenna configured to inductively transfer power to a plurality of receiver devices via a magnetic field; and
a controller operably coupled to the single transmit antenna and configured to determine an allocation of power to be received from the single transmit antenna by a first and a second one of the plurality of receiver devices and to cause the first or second receiver devices to enable itself themselves, based on the determined allocation of power, to receive the allocation of power from the single transmit antenna and to cause at least a portion of the remaining receiver devices to disable themselves from receiving the power while the first or second receiver devices are enabled.

Abstract
Exemplary embodiments are directed to wireless power transfer. A wireless power transmitter includes a transmit antenna and a controller. The transmit antenna inductively transfers power to a plurality of receiver devices. The controller is operably coupled to the transmit antenna and causes a first one of the plurality of receiver devices to be enabled to receive the power from the transmit antenna and causes at least a portion of the remaining receiver devices to be disabled from receiving the power while the first receiver device is enabled.

17. A wireless power receiver, comprising:
-
a receive antenna configured to inductively receive power via a magnetic field from a transmitter which is configured to inductively transfer the power to a plurality of receiver devices spaced apart from the receive antenna; and a controller operably coupled to the receive antenna and configured to load and unload the receive antenna in order to change the power received via the magnetic field, indicating an amount of power accepted by the receiver, and to cause the receive antenna to enable itself to receive the amount of power from the transmitter while at least a portion of the plurality of receiver devices is disabled from receiving the power from the transmitter. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20, 23)
