1. A magnetic resonance compatible damping arrangement comprising:

  • a transmission line within an electric (E) field environment, the transmission line connected to a transmit coil of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system; and

an energy damping device formed having a conductive plastic body and positioned adjacent to and in direct contact with a contacting conductor of the transmission line that is connected to the transmit coil, wherein the energy damping device is in direct physical contact with less than an entire circumference of the contacting conductor and with less than an entire length of the contacting conductor, the energy damping device being configured to dampen common-mode energy induced within the transmission line that is connected to the transmit coil by the E field environment as a result of the direct contact between the conductive plastic body and the transmission line.
