1. A projector, comprising:

  • correction circuitry to conduct automatic trapezoidal distortion correction of an image displayed on a screen disposed vertically based on an inclination angle of a projection unit detected by an angle detector, and to enable manual trapezoidal distortion correction of the image displayed on the screen based on a physical setting of the inclination angle of the projection unit,wherein, after the manual trapezoidal distortion correction is conducted subsequent to the automatic trapezoidal distortion correction, the automatic trapezoidal distortion correction is not conducted again using the correction circuitry, when a time period after conducting the manual trapezoidal distortion correction is within a given time period, and when a detected angle deviation from the set inclination angle of the projection unit for the manual trapezoidal correction is at or below a threshold inclination angle, andwherein, after the manual trapezoidal correction is conducted subsequent to the automatic trapezoidal distortion correction, the automatic trapezoidal distortion correction is conducted again based on the detected angle deviation, using the correction circuitry, when a time period after conducting the manual trapezoidal distortion correction exceeds the given time period, and when the detected angle deviation is greater than the threshold inclination angle.
