1. An electrical power management system for an internal combustion engine system that has a power consumption device, comprising:
- a battery coupleable in electrical power providing communication with the power consumption device;
a supercapacitor coupleable in electrical power providing communication with the power consumption device; and
a power arbitration module configured to receive electrical power from the battery and the supercapacitor, and provide the electrical power from one or both of the battery and the supercapacitor to the power consumption device;
wherein the power arbitration module is configured to maintain providing electrical power from the battery to the power consumption device until a storage capacity of the battery is below a predefined threshold value, wherein in response to the storage capacity of the battery being below the predefined threshold value, the power arbitration module is configured to disconnect the battery from being able to provide electrical power to the power consumption device and only provide electrical power to the power consumption device from the supercapacitor.
