1. A placeholder for implantation in a human or animal body, the placeholder comprising an outer wall having a plurality of openings, and an inner wall disposed within the outer wall and having a plurality of openings,wherein the inner wall is spaced apart from the outer wall in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis of the placeholder that extends from a first end of the placeholder to a second end of the placeholder, the inner wall being spaced apart from the outer wall with at least one connecting, portion to promote in-growth of body tissue in an open space between the inner and outer walls, openings of the plurality of openings of the outer wall intersecting the open space between the inner and outer walls and being in communication with each other through the open space,wherein the inner wall is fixed relative to the outer wall along both directions of the longitudinal axis with the at least one connecting portion, the at least one connecting portion comprising an end wall connecting the inner and outer walls and arranged transverse to the longitudinal axis at or in a region of the first end of the placeholder, andwherein the placeholder further comprises first projections that project longitudinally at the first end of the placeholder.
