1. A computer mouse system for monitoring health characteristics of a user, the computer mouse system comprising:

  • a computer mouse comprising;

    a computer mouse controller;

    a computer mouse body;

    a mouse location sensor configured to sense movement of the computer mouse relative to a work surface on which the computer mouse is located;

    a mouse temperature sensor configured to sense a body temperature of the user;

    a mouse blood condition sensor configured to sense a blood saturation level of the user;

    a mouse wireless interface;

    a first mouse body portion; and

    a mouse lid coupled to the first mouse body portion via a hinge, the mouse lid configured to rotate about the hinge between an open position and a closed position, wherein rotating the mouse lid to the open position is configured to expose an opening between the first mouse body portion and the mouse lid to provide access to the opening, and wherein rotating the mouse lid to the closed position is configured to enclose the opening between the first mouse body portion and the mouse lid to inhibit access to the opening,wherein the mouse blood condition sensor is housed in the opening such that rotating the mouse lid to the open position is configured to provide access to the mouse blood condition sensor and rotating the mouse lid to the closed position is configured to inhibit access to the mouse blood condition sensor; and

    a blood pressure sensor configured to sense a blood pressure of the user, the blood pressure sensor comprising;

    a bladder;

    a pump;

    a pressure transducer;

    a blood pressure sensor controller; and

    a blood pressure sensor wireless interface,wherein the bladder, the pump, the pressure transducer, the blood pressure sensor controller, and the blood pressure sensor wireless interface are integrated with the blood pressure sensor, and wherein the blood pressure sensor is not physically tethered to the computer mouse;

    the computer mouse controller configured to;

    send, to the blood pressure sensor controller via wireless communication between the mouse wireless interface and the blood pressure sensor wireless interface, a request for a blood pressure reading,the blood pressure sensor controller configured to, in response to the request for the blood pressure reading, perform the following operations;

    control operation of the pump to inflate the bladder;

    obtain, from the pressure transducer, one or more pressure readings indicative of a blood pressure of the user; and

    send, to the computer mouse controller via wireless communication between the mouse wireless interface and the blood pressure sensor wireless interface, blood pressure datacorresponding to the one or more pressure readings;

    the computer mouse controller being further configured to;

    receive, from the mouse location sensor, movement data corresponding to sensed movement of the computer mouse for use in determining movement of the computer mouse;

    receive, from the mouse temperature sensor, temperature data corresponding to a sensed body temperature of the user;

    receive, from the mouse blood condition sensor, blood condition data corresponding to a sensed blood saturation level of the user;

    receive, from the blood pressure sensor controller via wireless communication between the mouse wireless interface and the blood pressure sensor wireless interface, the blood pressure data; and

    send, to a computer workstation, the following;

    location data corresponding to the movement data for use in determining the movement of the computer mouse; and

    health data corresponding to the temperature data, the blood condition data and the blood pressure data for use in determining body temperature, blood saturation level, and blood pressure of the user.
