1. A method for remotely monitoring glucose concentration for a plurality of hosts by any number of remote wireless mobile computing devices in communication with a remote server system, the remote server system storing glucose concentration data for each of the plurality of hosts, the glucose concentration data of each host being measured by a different glucose monitoring system, the method comprising:

  • authorizing, at the remote server system, a request from a first remote monitoring application installed on a first remote wireless computing device to receive glucose information of a first host;

    authorizing, at the remote server system, a request from a second remote monitoring application installed on a second remote wireless computing device to receive glucose information of a second host;

    establishing, at the remote server system, a plurality of rule sets, a first rule set of the plurality of rule sets being defined by the first host and that can be modified by a first user using the first remote monitoring application, a second rule set of the plurality of rule sets being defined by the second host and that can be modified by a second user using the second remote monitoring application, wherein the first rule set comprises a first threshold value associated with a first host'"'"'s glucose concentration and wherein the second rule set comprises a second threshold value associated with a second host'"'"'s glucose concentration, and wherein the first threshold value is different from the second threshold value;

    determining, by the remote server system, that the at least some glucose concentration data indicative of the first host'"'"'s glucose concentration received from the first host'"'"'s glucose monitoring system exceeds or is below the first threshold value;

    generating, by the remote server system, a first alert informative of an event based on the determination that the at least some of the glucose concentration data indicative of the first host'"'"'s glucose concentration exceeds or is below the first threshold value;

    transmitting, by the remote server system, the first alert to the first remote wireless computing device, wherein the first remote wireless computing device is configured to display the notification alert regardless of whether the first remote monitoring application is active or inactive on the first remote wireless computing device and activate the first remote monitoring application if the first remote monitoring application is inactive;

    receiving and confirming, by the remote server system, a first acknowledgement from the first remote monitoring application indicating that the first user has received the first alert, the remote server system not providing additional glucose concentration data indicative of the first user'"'"'s glucose concentration to the first remote monitoring application until the first acknowledgement is confirmed;

    determining, by the remote server system, that the at least some glucose concentration data indicative of the second host'"'"'s glucose concentration received from the second host'"'"'s glucose monitoring system exceeds or is below the second threshold value;

    generating, by the remote server system, a second alert informative of an event based on the determination that the at least some of the glucose concentration indicative of the second host'"'"'s glucose concentration data exceeds or is below the second threshold value;

    transmitting, by the remote server system, the second alert to the second remote wireless computing device, wherein the second remote wireless computing device is configured to display the alert regardless of whether the second remote monitoring application is active or inactive on the second remote wireless computing device and activate the second remote monitoring application if the second remote monitoring application is inactive; and

    receiving and confirming, by the remote server system, a second acknowledgement from the second remote monitoring application indicating that the second user has received the second alert, the remote server system not providing additional glucose concentration data indicative of the second user'"'"'s glucose concentration to the second remote monitoring application until the second acknowledgement is confirmed.
