1. A method, comprising:

  • at an electronic device with one or more processors, memory, and a touch-sensitive display;

    receiving data relating to at least one of device movement and device proximity;

    receiving a touch input at a location on the touch-sensitive display;

    processing the received data relating to the at least one of device movement and device proximity to determine whether the electronic device is in one of a first or second state based on the received data relating to at least one of device movement and device proximity;

    if it is determined that the electronic device is in the first state, processing the touch input, including determining the location the touch input was received on the touch-sensitive display, and performing a function associated with the location of the processed touch input; and

    if it is determined that the electronic device is in the second state, processing the touch input, including determining the location the touch input was received on the touch-sensitive display, and forgoing the function associated with the location of the processed touch input.
