1. A new and distinct variety of apple tree which is a mutation of the Royal Gala variety (Tenroy cultivar, U.S. Pat. No. P.P. 4,121) substantially as herein shown and described, characterized by:

  • (a) a distinctive color patern covering the fruit of predominantly bright red color and flecks of ground color overlain with bold, discontinuous darker red striping,(b) particularly early development of fruit red color extending throughout the tree at maturity; and

    (c) dark coloring of fruit stems, bark and leaves.
