1. A Mobile Terminal (MT) for providing orientation-aware processing capabilities, comprising:

  • a processor for determining video orientation capabilities of the mobile terminal; and

    a transceiver for transmitting video targeting capability information of the mobile terminal to a server via packet switched streaming service (PSS) device capability exchange signaling,the transceiver is further configured to;

    an Orientation attribute selected from a list of different video Orientation states supported by the mobile terminal,a DefaultOrientation attribute that provides a default video orientation that is adopted as a reference for content generation or selection,an OrientationModesCapture attribute selected from a list of different video orientation modes supported by the mobile terminal for capture,an OrientationModesDisplay attribute selected from a list of different video orientation modes supported by the mobile terminal for rendering and display,a DefaultOrientationCapture attribute that provides a default video orientation for capture based on installation of a camera sensor if the orientation sensor is disabled or not present,a DefaultOrientationDisplay attribute that provides a default video orientation for rendering and display if the orientation sensor is disabled or not present,an OrientationAngularityCapture attribute selected according to a number of equally spaced angular granularity levels in a 90 degree interval, wherein a device sensor is capable of detecting video orientation changes during the capturing in accordance with the OrientationAngularityCapture attribute,an OrientationAngularGranularyDisplay attribute selected according to a number of equally spaced angular granularity levels in a 90 degree interval, wherein the device sensor is capable of detecting a video orientation change during the rendering and the displaying, or during the capturing and the rendering and displaying, in accordance with the OrientationAngularGranularyDisplay attribute,a NumOfCameras attribute that is selected based on the number of cameras on the device, anA horizon mirroringsupport attribute to indicate whether the device supports horizontal mirroring when the device is orientation aware.
