1. A wire harness system comprising:

  • a plurality of spaced apart single emitter diode lasers, each configured to emit a respective laser beam along a respective emission beam axis;

    a coherence-reducing optical system arranged to receive the laser beams and to establish optical path length differences between the laser beams, thereby producing a coherence-reduced beam; and

    a beam optics system arranged to receive the reduced coherence beam and direct a beam towards a target;

    wherein the coherence-reducing optical system includes an optical waveguide having a longitudinal axis, the optical waveguide asymmetrically receiving the emitted laser beam, the optical waveguide generating a coherence-reduced exit beam based on a path length difference and an asymmetric incident angle in the optical waveguide;

    wherein the coherence reducing optical system comprises a diffraction grating arranged to receive the emitted laser beam and to reduce the coherence of the emitted laser beam by providing a diffracted beam having a beam path difference related to a diffraction angle, the axes of the laser beams being parallel to each other at an input of the diffraction grating and the axes of the laser beams being parallel to each other at an output of the diffraction grating and being directed at the diffraction angle.
