1. An antenna device, comprising:

  • a tool body portion having a longitudinal axis and an outer surface, the tool body portion comprising;

    a plurality of slots, each slot having a reduced radial dimension, the plurality of slots spaced apart around the tool body portion, each slot comprising two sides, a top, a bottom, and a depth, the plurality of slots comprising a first slot oriented in a first direction and a second slot oriented in a second direction, the first direction being a non-axial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the tool body portion, the second direction being an axial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the tool body portion or another non-axial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the tool body portion;

    a plurality of ribs spaced around the tool body portion, each of the plurality of ribs separating at least two adjacent flutes of the plurality of flutes,an antenna path traversing a plurality of grooves and a plurality of ribs spaced around the tool body portion; and

    a coil disposed in the antenna path, the coil being a single axial coil or a single tilted coil,wherein for one or more of the plurality of ribs, the antenna path is formed by machining away at least a portion of each rib such that the machined away portion of the antenna path is inclined in a non-radial direction, and wherein the antenna path further intersects at least one non-axial slot at a non-orthogonal angle;

    wherein at least one of the plurality of ribs has a dimension that is different from a dimension of at least one other rib; and

    isWherein the first and second slots act as magnetic dipoles oriented in the same direction as the first and second slots, respectively.
