1. A process for producing a rigid foam, which comprises reacting at least one polyisocyanate with a mixture comprising at least one polyepoxide, water and at least one other acidic hydrogen compound, the reaction taking place in the presence of a metal-free Lewis base having at least one nitrogen atom as catalyst,the catalyst is selected from the group consisting of 1, 8-diazabicyclo-5, 4, 0-undec-7-ene, N-methyl-N'"'"' - (dimethylaminomethyl) piperazine, pentamethyldiethylenetriamine, methylimidazole, and mixtures and derivatives thereof, or is N, N-dimethylcyclohexylamine,the at least one polyisocyanate is selected from MDI, polymeric MDI and TDI,the at least one polyepoxide is selected from bisphenol A epoxide and derivatives thereof,the at least one acidic hydrogen compound is selected from polyether polyols,wherein the components of the mixture are liquid at room temperature.
