Unified Messaging Solutions (UMS), a subsidiary of Acacia Research, filed suit against EverBank Financial alleging that the defendant’s webmail systems services infringe five patents related to web-based messaging. UMS filed more than 100 prior suits since March 2011 against a spectrum of e-commerce, content site, and financial services targets. UMS is the exclusive licensee of the patents-in-suit, which originated with J2 Global Communications/NetOffice Solutions and were assigned to Advanced Messaging Technologies in May 2010.  RPX acquired sublicense rights to the UMS portfolio as part of the Acacia Bundle deal completed in September 2012. 2/14, Southern District of Florida, 0:13cv60364
