Abarta Sues EON Reality and Mechdyne Corporation

Abarta filed two separate suits against EON Reality and Mechdyne Corporation, alleging that the defendants’ Icube Immersive Virtual Reality System and CAVE Virtual Reality System products infringe a patent related to a virtual reality system.  Abarta has filed one prior suit against Invensys Systems.  RPX reviewed the patent-in-suit as part of an open market opportunity (VOLO) that was offered for sale by IP Offerings in August 2010.  The patent-in-suit was assigned to Volo in 2007, and according to the complaint Abarta is the exclusive licensee and possesses the right to sue for infringement and recover past damages.  10/16, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00666; 10/17, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00668.
