Flatworld Interactives LLC filed suit (3:12-cv-01956) against Apple, alleging that Apple’s iPhones, iPads, iPods, and laptops infringe a patent (RE,43,318) generally related to manipulating an image on a display. This suit is the first initiated by Flatworld. According to the complaint, Flatworld was formed in January 2007 for the purpose of promoting and commercializing the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Flatworld by inventor Milekic Slavoljub in October 2011. The patent-in-suit was reissued in April 2012. 4/19, Northern District of California.
