NPE Files Suit against Display Companies Alleging Infringement of Semiconductor Patents

Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (SEL) [NPE] filed suit against Acer, Chi Mei, ViewSonic, Vizio, and Westinghouse Digital, alleging that the defendants’ LCD products infringe six patents related to semiconductor thin-film transistors, flexible printed circuits, and liquid crystal displays. SEL has filed seven prior suits since 2002 against over 15 defendants including Samsung. 1/5, Central District of California, 8:2012cv00021.
