CryptoPeak Solutions, LLC has filed 21 additional lawsuits this week, bringing the total number of defendants in its only litigation campaign to almost 50. The complaints all assert a single patent (6,202,150) that broadly relates to generating private keys in public-private keypair encryption. In July 2015, CryptoPeak sued 28 companies for infringement of the ‘150 patent, and the NPE’s November wave of suits includes cases against Bath & Body Works (2:15-cv-1728), Costco (2:15-cv-1731), GoPro (2:15-cv-1734), Home Depot (2:15-cv-1747), Office Depot (2:15-cv-1741), Sears (2:15-cv-1742), Sony (2:15-cv-1744), Target (2:15-cv-01746), and Walgreen (drugstore.com) (2:15-cv-01732). CryptoPeak’s infringement allegations focus on the security systems associated with each of the defendants’ websites.
