Last week, it sued Facebook (1:15-cv-08673), and this week, it added Yahoo (2:15-cv-07965) to its sole litigation campaign. In each of its suits, including the most recently filed cases, Verify Smart asserts a single patent generally related to verification of user identify during an electronic transaction (8,285,648). Verify alleges that the defendants infringe the ‘648 patent through the use of a multi-factor system for authenticating user identity.
