January 28, 2016

SoftVault Systems, Inc. has filed suit against AT&T Mobility (5:16-cv-00374) and HP Enterprise (5:16-cv-0379), asserting the same two patents (6,249,868; 6,594,765) that have been nearly continuously in suit in SoftVault’s litigation campaign since 2006. The patents generally relate to remotely disabling hardware or software components of a computing device via interaction between an “embedded agent” in the component and a remote server. The NPE accuses of infringement the defendants’ mechanisms for remotely locking/disabling a mobile device (e.g. AT&T Toggle, HP Touchpoint Manager).
