SoftVault Sweeps Sony into Its Decade-Long Litigation Campaign
- April 28, 2016
SoftVault Systems, Inc. has added Sony (3:16-cv-02241) to its long-running litigation campaign asserting the same two patents (6,249,868; 6,594,765) since 2006. The patents generally relate to remotely disabling hardware or software components of a computing device via interaction between an “embedded agent” in the component and a remote server. The NPE accuses of infringement Sony’s products having a mechanism for remote locking/disabling, giving as an example Sony SecuROM.
