Rothschild’s QR Code Campaign Expands Past 150 in 2019

With new suits against Brown-Forman (1:19-cv-02261), DEI Holdings (Denon Electronics) (1:19-cv-02262), Fresh Del Monte Produce (2:19-cv-05407), Johnny Rockets (3:19-cv-02867), and Viacom (Paramount Pictures) (1:19-cv-02263), the defendant count of Leigh M. Rothschild’s Symbology Innovations, LLC campaign has reached roughly 170. Since launching its campaign in February 2015, Symbology Innovations has targeted a broad range of defendants through their use of QR (quick response) codes. The patents asserted throughout the campaign generally relate to using a mobile device to take a picture of an object having “symbology” from which information about the object can be retrieved from a remote server.
