DSL Extension LLC has sued AT&T (6:20-cv-00601) over the provision of certain DSL modems and gateways, including the U-Verse Pace 5031NV, Motorola NVG589 VDSL2, and ARRIS 5268AC. A single patent, generally related to extending the distance at which xDSL services can be provided to subscribers, is asserted in the complaint and has appeared in litigation before. Ospreay, LLC hit Cavalier Telephone, CenturyLink, Consolidated Communications (FairPoint Communications), and Windstream Communications in a set of September 2018 District of Delaware complaints, while the current plaintiff has launched litigation in the Western District of Texas. DSL Extension and Ospreay appear to be connected in familiar fashion, but this filing in West Texas does mark a departure from previous filing patterns.
