ImmerVision (f/k/a 6115187 Canada Inc.), an apparent developer of “advanced vision systems combining optics, image processing, and sensor fusion technology”, has kicked off a second litigation campaign, filing suit against Apple (1:21-cv-01570) in the District of Delaware. A single patent, generally related to a “miniature wide-angle optical apparatus”, is asserted, with Apple accused of infringement through the provision of certain smartphones and tablets with cameras that incorporate wide angle-lenses. The new complaint comes on the heels of ImmerVision’s late-October suit, again against Apple, where it targeted the incorporation of panoramic lenses in certain smartphones and tablets.
