April 16, 2022

Samsung (2:22-cv-00107) is the latest defendant to be sued in the sole litigation campaign that Texas NPE Emergent Mobile LLC launched in June 2021. The plaintiff asserts three patents broadly directed to wireless communications, with Samsung accused of infringement through the provision of 5G- and LTE-compliant smartphones and tablets. At issue is the support for features such as LTE networking, Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA), LTE Proximity Based Services (ProSe), and Google’s ARCore localization technology.
