Apple and Samsung Sued in Separate Complaints Alleging Infringement of the Same Two Wireless Charging Patents

IFPower Co., Ltd., a Taiwanese plaintiff, has filed what appears to be its first US litigation, accusing Apple (1:23-cv-00205) and Samsung (1:23-cv-00210) of infringing two patents through the provision of devices that support wireless charging in compliance with certain WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) Qi wireless charging standards. The cases have been filed in the Western District of Texas, the plaintiff having yet to file its accompanying corporate disclosure statements.
