Inventor-controlled VASU Holdings LLC has filed its first litigation, suing Samsung (2:24-cv-00034) in the Eastern District of Texas over six patents broadly directed to various aspects of wireless telecommunications. The defendant is accused of infringement through the provision of various Galaxy-series phones and tablets, as well as certain Samsung WLAN Access Point-series products. At issue are the products’ compliance with the IEEE 802.11e networking standard (and related incorporation of a Voice-aware Traffic Scheduler (VaTS)) and settings for switching between mobile and Wi-Fi network connections.
