Wrinkl Sues Slack over Threaded Messaging Functionalities

May 25, 2024

Inventor-controlled Wrinkl, Inc. has filed a second complaint in its sole litigation campaign, launched in October 2020 with a case against Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), this time suing Salesforce (Slack Technologies) (1:24-cv-00620), again in the District of Delaware. At issue is a single patent, asserted in litigation for the first time and broadly directed to a “group-based communication system”. The defendant is accused of infringement through the provision of the Slack messaging platform, with features concerning threaded messaging and related user interface (UI) functionalities at issue.
