Yet More Former Orckit Patents Asserted Against Cisco
New Patent Litigation, TPLF
In an Eastern District of Texas complaint, Quicker Connections LLC accuses Cisco (2:24-cv-01074) of infringing six patents that originated with Orckit, but the plaintiff only follows up with formal accusations related to five of those six patents. Targeted is the provision of “high-speed networking platforms”, including the Cisco Network Convergence system; the Cisco ONS Multiservice Switching Platform and Cisco Catalyst Passive Optical Network; and related hardware and software products. Cisco has been sued multiple times, by various plaintiffs, over former patents from this same source.

Following a Familiar Pattern, Orckit Corporation Files Its First Patent Suit
New Patent Litigation
In late July, Orckit Corporation filed its first litigation, suing Cisco Systems (2:22-cv-00276) in the Eastern District of Texas. The four asserted patents, each originating with Orckit-Corrigent (f/k/a Corrigent), are broadly directed to wireless networking. Cisco is accused of infringement through the provision of networking hardware products, including certain routers and switches, as well as related software products. Public records tie the new plaintiff to one of several NPEs litigating former Orckit-Corrigent patents—specifically, one with active cases against each of Arista Networks, Cisco, and Dell.
