X-Mobile Asserts Former Xybernaut Patents in New Mobile Devices Campaign
X-Mobile Technologies LLC, an affiliate of monetization firm Empire IP LLC, has initiated a new litigation campaign, asserting up to four former Xybernaut patents in separate Eastern District of Texas cases filed against Amazon (4:17-cv-00703), Apple (4:17-cv-00702), HTC (4:17-cv-00699), Huawei (4:17-cv-00695), Lenovo (4:17-cv-00700), LG Electronics (4:17-cv-00698), Microsoft (4:17-cv-00704), Samsung (4:17-cv-00697), Sony (4:17-cv-00701), and ZTE (4:17-cv-00696). At issue are the defendants’ smartphones, tablet computers, and smartwatches, as well as the Amazon Echo.

Empire IP’s Xcelis Sues Panasonic in Wake of Plantronics Dismissal
Xcelis LLC, an affiliate of Empire IP LLC, has filed suit against Panasonic (2:17-cv-02463), accusing the company of infringement through provision of its Link2Cell phones. The patent-at-issue is generally related to a communications system set up to place either a landline or wireless call. The new case follows on the heels of a dismissal with prejudice in Xcelis’s first case in the campaign, filed against Plantronics in April and ending on September 19.
