New “Sensory Feedback” Campaign Taps Peloton

Lightning Fitness Systems LLC—a plaintiff that appears to be connected to a familiar patent monetization figure—has filed suit against Peloton (Precor) (1:24-cv-00012) in the District of Delaware. Peloton is accused of infringing a single patent, generally related to sending a signal or controlling a device in response to “sensory feedback” detected while moving, through the provision of fitness machines and related products (e.g., heart rate bands/monitors and mobile apps).

Recent Patent Assignments Make Their USPTO Debut

Patent assignments executed in late 2022 and early 2023 continue to surface among USPTO data, with several transactions hinting at possible litigation campaigns to come. The assignees include a newly surfaced Atlantic IP Services Limited NPE, multiple NPEs apparently associated with a familiar figure in patent monetization, and an NPE that—according to public records—has received funding from a prominent litigation finance firm.
